The Great Animal Orchestra was an immersive audiovisual art experience created by Bernie Krause, United Visual Artists, and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain that explores the natural world through sound. The West Coast premiere of this show took place at the Exploratorium in Summer 2023. The role of the 2D team was to amplify this experience with wall graphics and signage.

For the gallery walls, I reproduced infographics featured in the Great Animal Orchestra book, including accurate depictions of statistics in graphs and charts. Additionally, I created exhibit labels, wayfinding signage, and signage for auxiliary content.

I created over 20 add-on labels for the exhibit floor, which would be posted alongside existing exhibit labels. The finished exhibit labels invite interaction. After they were delivered by our vendor, exhibit developer Gaia and I attached them to the exhibits on the floor.

Unique labels with specific measurements and dielines required communication between myself, the exhibit developer, and our production vendor. A finished exhibit combines multiple labels to create an interactive station for social listening.

Auxiliary signage invited people to use their personal devices to interact with the content.

Further digital signage was created at later dates for a Members-Only special preview of the exhibition and public programming related to the exhibition.
